When it comes to how to quit smoking cigarettes, it's not as simple as saying "just stop smoking." Those who have been smokers for a long, long period of time know that there are many factors involved in the smoking process. Therefore, how to quit smoking cigarettes is an individual process that needs to be tailored to each person on the path to quitting.

Once you quit, (you stopped intake of nicotine), your health starts to improve. You begin to look and feel great! The truth is many people have quit in the past, many still quit today and will still quit in time to come. So, if they all can quit, you too can quit! Genuinely deciding to quit is the first step! To you, you might have the feeling that when you smoke cigarette, you get calmed down, so quitting becomes hard. But these are just excuses. Avoid them!

Studies show that a greater amount of water intake can slightly help to fight against nicotine cravings. I thought that this tip was bogus, but I tried it out and drank some pure, good ol' fashioned H20 until my urine was clear and it not only made my cravings somewhat diminish, but it made me just feel better all over. This tip was given to me by a 52 year old, ex-smoker who had been smoking for 33 years if that tells you anything.

For a majority of cases, this view does not hold good because you definitely need some smoking aid to relieve the uneasy symptoms of quitting smoking viz. laziness, irritation, sweating, mental feelings of alienation and depression. It is a different thing what kind of aid you are seeking. It may not be a supplement containing nicotine. If you continue taking such kind of aid, your body will be unable to readjusts to the changes when you stop smoking.

If you sincerely want to know how to quit smoking cigarettes, the second most important thing you must understand is that you will experience some degree of physical withdrawal. Of course, nicotine withdrawal symptoms are not exactly the same for everyone who quits smoking. But it is safe to assume that you will experience physical issues of some type because you will be denying your body continued doses of nicotine.

Another way to help you quit smoking cigarettes is to never doubt your decision to abandon cigarettes as part of your life. If you spend your life doubting whether you can enjoy yourself without them, you will miss them. Missing them is not a frame of mind that will be conducive to quitting for the long term.

Fix a quitting date for yourself: Like I earlier said, you need to have a mindset to quit smoking. Stop going to those places where you tend to smoke more or smoke at all. Visit restaurants that do not allow smoking! Reward yourself for not smoking. Exercise regularly and before you know it, you just conquered the spirit of smoking!

Smokeless tobacco is not a viable option for replacing cigarettes, as they have a whole new set of health problems, including lip and mouth cancer.

No one can really tell a person how to quit smoking cigarettes. They have to figure out what works best for them. Perhaps their path lies in nicotine replacement.

To clear out mind from garbage that advertisers have planted in brain for so long time requires quite effective methodic and there are quite many that even include hypnosis and neuro linguistic programming for those who are hopelessly slaved by advertisers. But many of them lack complete solution for painful cravings and withdrawals that usually cause failure for most who try to quit smoking.
